Your Guide to DIA Inside|Out Exhibit in Huntington Woods (With Photos)

Find out which artworks are on display where this summer, as well as special events surrounding the program.

Reproductions of five artworks from the Detroit Institute of Arts will be displayed this summer throughout Huntington Woods as part of the fourth annual Inside|Out program.

The city is among 25 Metro area communities, including Berkley, that will feature Inside|Out outdoor art installations this year.

The following artworks will remain on display from June through September. 
  • Huntington Woods Public Library: "Reading the Story of Oenone" by Francis Davis Millet
  • Gordon L. Hassig Senior Park: "A Woman" by Amedeo Modigliani
  • Scotia Park"Savoy Ballroom" by Reginald Marsh
  • Rackham Golf Course: "Watson and the Shark"by John Singleton Copley
  • Mary Kay Davis Park: "The Recitation" by Thomas Dewing
Huntington Woods Public Library Director Anne Hage, who applied for the program on behalf of the city, said a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 6:45 p.m. July 2 at Scotia Park and a  bike tour of some of the works will be held Sunday, Sept. 8, in conjunction with Pleasant Ridge, which also is an Inside|Out community.

New this year, residents of participating Inside|Out communities are invited to visit the museum for free on a specified "community weekend," during which they will receive free admission, as well as a 10 percent discount in the Cafe DIA and museum shop, $1 off Detroit Film Theatre tickets and free admission to showings of the DFT 101 film series.
