5 Tips for Handling Grief During the Holidays

Bereavement counselor will share lessons he learned after losing his wife to cancer during a free community event at 7 p.m. Dec. 11.

Holidays are a special challenge for people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. While others are celebrating and shopping, people who are grieving may be feeling lost, alone, confused and often depressed. Grieving -which is natural and necessary- intensifies during the holiday season.  Family and friends want to be helpful but often are not sure what to say or do. Mary Jamerino, LMSW, ACSW, grief expert and bereavement counselor, will discuss Coping with the Holidays and helpful tips  at a special free community presentation on Tuesday, Dec. 11 beginning at 7 p.m. at  A.
