Readers' Choice: Hopeakuu is Berkley's Top Pick to Pamper Mom

Readers say it's not just the technique, but the kindness and peacefulness of owner Tina Johnson that makes this Berkley spa the best for Mother's Day treats.

Just in time to treat a wonderful woman in your life with a special Mother’s Day treat, we wanted to know the best place in Berkley and Huntington Woods to pamper a much-deserving mom. With 54 percent of the votes and seven new reviews, Hopeakuu Holistic Massage came in at the No. 1 spot. Its owner and massage therapist Tina Johnson, who seems to be the main draw, truly makes it a relaxing retreat at Hopeakuu, according to Patch readers. Young's Chinese Food Carry Out in Royal Oak beat out nine other restaurants and carryouts, based on reviews and ratings.

Almond chicken is a customer favorite from Young's Chinese Food Carry Out in Royal Oak, but the broccoli chicken and chicken fried rice get some love, too, for Patch readers' favorite place to get Asian food in Oakland County. Nine five-star reviews earned Young's the top spot among 10 Chinese, Asian and sushi restaurants and carryouts in Oakland County, based on reviews and ratings by readers. "Been getting food here since it opened," Gay Thacker wrote in a review on Young's Patch business directory page. "Love it! Always consistently good food. Readers from 10 Patch communities voted last week on their favorite Chinese, sushi or Asian restaurant. Now those winners vie for the Oakland County Readers' Choice crown.

Patch readers are passionate about their food, and we found out last week just how passionate they can be about Chinese, Asian or sushi restaurants in particular. In our weekly quest to find the best of the best in Berkley and Huntington Woods, we've asked about such topics as gyms, coffee shops, nail salons, breakfast spots and car repair shops. 24 Seconds is Readers' Choice for Sports Watching in Berkley, Huntington Woods

If you are looking for a place in town to watch a big sports game, 24 Seconds in Berkley is our readers' choice. In our weekly quest to find the best of the best in Berkley and Huntington Woods, we've asked about such topics as gyms, coffee shops, nail salons, breakfast spots and car repair shops.
