Berkley Stars in Quicken Loans Commercial

The city's marquee serves as a backdrop for the ad that has begun airing on television.

A Quicken Loans commercial shot earlier this fall in Berkley that shows off the city's marquee has begun airing on television. The Quicken Loans ad shows a happy customer swinging around a pole in front of the landmark sign. Twelve Mile Road at Robina was closed for filming Sept. 22. The Quicken Loans commercial promotes the Detroit-based company's Skip-A-Year Mortgage Sweepstakes, in which the winner will get a break on their mortgage payments. [Have you seen the commercial? Berkley to Get Its 15 Minutes of Fame

Twelve Mile Road at Robina will close from 6 a.m. to noon for the filming of a Quicken Loans commercial and customers will participate in the making of an ad for Berkley Eyewear later Saturday.

It's time for Berkley's close-up: Two commercials will be filmed this weekend in the city, including one that will close a portion of 12 Mile Road on Saturday morning. Detour signs will be posted during the Quicken Loans shoot that will shut 12 Mile at Robina near the Berkley marquee from 6 a.m. to noon, Berkley Public Safety Deputy Director Robert North said. And, between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday, former customers are invited to participate in the creation of an ad for Berkley Eyewear at the shop's Coolidge Highway location.
