Berkley's newest eatery is open for business this week and the response is keeping these first-time restaurant owners busy with orders.
Berkley’s new hot dog joint Atomic Dawg is in full swing this week after locals packed the house when it opened for a sneak peek during the Berkley Art Bash on Saturday. Owner Joel Bacow and his team of friends and staff had their hands full serving nearly 300 people in around three hours Saturday — all gratis. Bacow said it was an “overwhelming” response and as first-time restaurant owners, they couldn’t even anticipate such a welcoming first day. “We’ve never done this before,” he said Saturday, serving hundreds of free hot dogs as people checked out the two-floor remodeled house. I've been there quite a few times now. Their veggie burgers are the best I've ever had.... I'm not a vegetarian but they are fantastic!!! My favorite menu item would have to be the chili cheese slips. They are delicious! They always have different gourmet sausage specials too. Today I ordered carry-out & tried the Santa Fe sausage.... it had guacamole, pico & chipotle mayo... Uh-Maze-ing! …   more ›
