Film Crew Shoots Scenes in Huntington Woods

"Cripple" is a comedy about a local man who loses the use of his limbs in a diving accident and has to relearn how to live.

Huntington Woods caught the movie bug Friday night as the cast and crew of Cripple shot scenes in the normally sleepy suburb. The 8200 block of Huntington Road and several streets to the north were lit up bright as day, with service trucks lining the curbs, crew members wearing boots and fur-lined jackets huddling together and curious passersby slowing their cars to peek at the action. Cripple is based on the life of a local man, Adam Niskar, who became a quadriplegic after a diving accident in 1999, said second assistant director Jasmine Marie Alhambra.
