Oh they'll follow through, only it will be tax cuts for the rich and benefit cuts for the taxpayers. Wars, bombs, their salary and benefits, and for-profit jails will continue on unscathed. When people and communities receive tax dollars, it's welfare; when corporations receive tax dollars, it's "capitalism". Their hypocrisy has no limit.   more ›

GOP Hopefuls Share Visions for Economic Recovery on OU Stage

Eight presidential candidates talk jobs, housing, health care, taxes — and character.

Eight Republican presidential hopefuls took turns offering their thoughts on all aspects of the economy — and faith and trust — on the stage of a transformed O'rena on the campus of Oakland University on Wednesday night. In a nationally televised debate coordinated by the Michigan Republican Party, the university and CNBC, candidates Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum sparred on issues related to money, jobs, housing and taxes. 8 Presidential Candidates Coming to Oakland University for GOP Debate

Organizers confirm who will be on stage Wednesday in Rochester.

Eight candidates have confirmed participation in next week's Republican presidential debate at Oakland University. CNBC, host of the Nov. 9 event, confirmed Wednesday night that the following candidates will be on stage: "Your Money, Your Vote: The Republican Presidential Debate," will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Rena on the OU campus in Rochester.
