FBI Releases Berkley, Huntington Woods Crime Statistics

Property crimes declined from 2010 to 2011 in both cities, according to the annual “Crime in the United States” report.

Property crimes declined from 2010 to 2011 in Berkley and Huntington Woods, according to the annual “Crime in the United States” report the Federal Bureau of Investigation released this week. The largest shift in Berkley from 2010 to 2011 was a decline in larceny-theft from 164 incidents to 124; in Huntington Woods, the most significant change was a decline in burglaries from 9 to 6 cases, according to the FBI. Violent crimes decreased from 13 to 11 in Berkley and increased from 0 to 1 in Huntington Woods, the report states. There was one incident categorized as "murder, nonnegligent manslaughter" in the cities – the death of Detroit resident Terrence Dyer in a fiery three-vehicle accident in March 2011 in Berkley.
