"It's perfect - I couldn't have dreamed of a better spot," says owner Laura Uhlianuk.
Saturday marked the opening of the Berkley Farm Stand, and five hours before the end of the day, the Michigan-grown fruits and vegetables were completely sold out. "I feel welcomed - just so generally welcomed here," said owner Laura Uhlianuk. "We didn't open until 8 a.m. on Saturday and we had people here even before 7 a.m. offering to help us out and just really be a part of it." Uhlianuk and her husband decided to open the Stand, which sits on a plot of land near 12 Mile Road and Tyler Street, next to Clark's Ice Cream & Yogurt, for the first time this year, after receiving such a positive response from the Berkley community the previous summer.
