Denise Brainard issues a heartfelt thank you to volunteers, residents and Mother Nature for making the annual festival, which kicked off May 11 and wrapped up Sunday, a success.
Dear Berkley and Friends, Thank you for making Berkley Days 2013 a tremendous success. I don't know if everyone knows that Berkley Days happens because of many different volunteers and community service groups. There are always some glitches and it doesn't always run perfectly, but the people who are dedicated to the event work tirelessly for months in advance and nonstop the weekend of the event. This year was no exception. Thank you to the Dad's Club for picking up trash on the Midway, the Mom's Club for putting up the Craft Show signs and Lisa Zimmerman and Hoops for taking them down. I want to thank the voters of Oakland County for their support of my candidacy for Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner. My time serving as Oakland County Commissioner was an honor and the most rewarding experience of my life. I have had the opportunity to serve with so many dedicated public servants and community volunteers, at the county, region, state and national levels. We can be truly proud of the people who work for us and those who volunteer in so many important capacities. St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that Americans of all backgrounds have embraced wholeheartedly.
