What Do Cider, Halloween Costumes and Pony Rides Have in Common?

They'll all be available during a busy weekend Oct. 5-6 in Huntington Woods. Find out what else is on tap!

Huntington Woods will be a hive of activity this weekend as the city welcomes fall with a variety of festive activities.

  1. The 38th annual Huntington Woods Men's Club / Women's League cider-and-doughnuts sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 5, at locations throughout the city.
  2. Scoop up books on sale for as little as a quarter from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Huntington Woods Public Library.
  3. A secondhand Halloween costume sale will be held from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Huntington Woods Recreation Center; proceeds will benefit the Teen Council.
  4. The annual Huntington Woods Public Safety open house and Hay Day will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. The event will feature emergency vehicles, hot chocolate, firefighters and more at the Public Safety Department and hay rides to the Recreation Center, where there will be games, crafts, pony rides and more.
  5. Drop off your old electronics, metal and books for recycling and shred your papers from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Huntington Woods Public Works Department. The shredder closes at 4 p.m.
