Tonight: Volunteer Fair Aims to Match Up Causes with Helpers

Nearly 30 organizations will be represented at the event 7-9 p.m. at the Huntington Woods Public Library.

Nearly 30 organizations will be on hand from 7-9 p.m. to tell potential volunteers about their organizations and how to get involved.

The event is designed to provide a “one-stop” opportunity for the community to identify volunteer opportunities in which they would like to participate.

"This is the first year that I have done a volunteer fair," library Director Anne Hage said. "I decided to do a fair because I get requests from people to volunteer and I don’t have many volunteer opportunities here, but I thought that other organizations probably do."

The fair also provides an avenue for nonprofits to be promoted at an event where people have an opportunity to act.
