30 Days of Giving, Day 11: The Bottomless Toy Chest

Donate new toys to help the nonprofit brighten young cancer patients' holidays.

This is part of a series of ways Patch community members can give back this holiday season. We hope you'll take part in 30 Days of Giving and take the spirit beyond the holidays, because there is need all year long.

There's a lot of joy during the holidays, but there are many families facing troubled times. And while some children wish for Barbie dolls and race cars for Christmas, other are merely hoping to get better and out of the hospital.

The Bottomless Toy Chest is a nonprofit organization that hopes to make the lives of the pediatric cancer patients better throughout the year. By providing crafts, art projects and toys to children in the hospital, especially during the holidays, The Bottomless Toy Chest tries to lift the spirits of those children in need. The group serves a handful of hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan and William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
