Run/Walk BOOM!!! Race Results
Find out who the top finishers were in the male and female categories for the 1 mile and 5K races held Saturday in Huntington Woods to support the annual Fourth of July fireworks.
More than 400 people participated in the inaugural Run/Walk BOOM!!! 1 mile and 5K races Saturday in Huntington Woods – including many from outside the community.
Race director Ed Kozloff of Huntington Woods attributed Run/Walk BOOM!!!'s first-year popularity, in part, to the number of racers who have particpated in previous events in the city.
"I would say more races have been held in or through Huntington Woods than any other city in Michigan," said Kozloff, who also is president of Motor City Striders, which has been putting on Metro Detroit races since the 1970s.

Kozloff said 124 events have been held in or passing through Huntington Woods.
Runners love the city for its scenery, but also for its welcoming attitude, Kozloff said.

"We don't have too many irritable people with runners going by and saying, 'I can't get out of my driveway,' " he said. "Residents actually come out to watch the races."
Kozloff said more than 400 runners participated Saturday in Run/Walk BOOM!!!, "which was really quite a number for a first-time race."
The following are the top three finishers in each category, according to Kozloff (see attached PDF for a complete list). Next year, he expects there only will be one heat of the 1-mile category.
