The Huntington Woods Men's Club announces winning ticket-holders Tuesday at Scotia Park, adds that sales raised approximately $12,000 for the annual Fourth of July display over Rackham Golf Course.

The Huntington Woods Men's Club announced Tuesday that fireworks raffle ticket sales raised approximately $12,000 to help fund the city's annual display over .

The announcement was made during the Concert in the Park at on Tuesday night, when the rescheduled fireworks raffle drawing also was held. The drawing was among festivities canceled on the Fourth of July after .

"We raised the money $10 at a time," fireworks raffle co-chairman Rob Hurley told the crowd Tuesday during a break in the performance by Latin/jazz/rock band Sin Hielo.

The three lucky raffle winners were:

  • First place, $1,000: B. Nowakowski, Huntington Woods
  • Second place, $250: Tony Flanagan, no city of residence given
  • Third place, $100: Eva Hempel, Davison

Men's Club President Rick Kagen said the $12,000, in combination with  race entry fees, would entirely cover the cost of the city's fireworks display.

"It was obviously very successful this year. We met our goal of raising $10,000," he said. "It's always a grass-roots effort. The community came out again, like they always do."
