See the Detroit Tigers Around Metro Detroit This Week

Meet Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera and other players at events Thursday and Friday in Birmingham, Southfield and elsewhere.

It's definitely not baseball weather out there, but Tigers fans still can see some of their favorite players Thursday and Friday throughout Metro Detroit as part of the Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan.

The Tigers will make several stops throughout Metro Detroit that are open to the public, including the following.

Madison Heights

  • Where: Red Robin (31805 John R Road)
  • When: 1:30-2:15 p.m. Thursday
  • What: Max Scherzer and Austin Jackson to serve as celebrity waiters for Red Robin customers.

Birmingham

  • Where: Palladium 12 Theatre (250 N. Old Woodward Ave.)
  • When: 4-6 p.m. Thursday 
  • What: Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander and Joaquin Benoit will rally Tigers fans. At an event beginning at 5 p.m., the three players will answer fan questions, play trivia games and give away prizes.

Royal Oak

  • Where: Royal Oak Middle School (709 N. Washington Ave.)
  • When: 4-6 p.m. Thursday
  • What: The Tigers will meet for an anti-bullying discussion. The event is open to the public; however, tickets no longer are available, according to the Detroit Tigers' website.

Troy

  • Where: Hockeytown Authentics (1845 E. Big Beaver Road)
  • When: 5:15-6 p.m. Thursday
  • What: Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with two Tigers players, whose names have yet to be announced. There also will be a collection to benefit fire victims through the American Red Cross.

Southfield

  • Where: Dunkin Donuts (29285 Southfield Road)
  • When: 10:30-11 a.m. Friday
  • What: Phil Coke and Torii Hunter will serve as celebrity baristas for Dunkin Donuts customers.

Detroit

  • Where: North American International Auto Show (Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd.)
  • When: 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday
  • What: Several Tigers will be at the auto show for a fan rally and parade, including a question-and-answer session in the Chevrolet display area.
