On the Agenda: Berkley Schools to Recognize Students, Staff and Outgoing Superintendent

Board is also expected to ratify teacher contracts and approve budgets during Monday's meeting.

The will wrap up some important matters and pay tribute to staff and students in its last meeting before the end of the school year when it meets Monday evening.

To kick off the night, there will be a reception in honor of the Class of 2012 and Berkley School District retirees at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room . The board meeting begins at 7 p.m.

  • An update on budget and negotiations, with ratification of the Berkley Education Association contract approval expected as well as budget approvals.
  • A report on the "China Experience" from Director of Schools and Human Resources Dennis McDavid, Berkley High School Principal Randy Gawel, Lori Bullis of the counseling staff and BHS English teacher Kay Cole.
  • Recognizing the top 10 graduates, student athletes, retirees and Superintendent Michael V. Simeck, who is retiring and leaving for .
