Moms Talk: What Are You And The Kids Up To This Summer?

Post a comment to share your ideas about how to keep kids busy once school lets out.

Last week in Moms Talk (dads, you're welcome to chime in, too!), we asked you how to give graduation gifts without breaking the bank. Here's what you had to say:

  • Libby Turpin: "Patch friends: This is such a hard question for me to answer. I want to provide something these new graduates will use and might find more personal than just money. I do not feel a monetary value should be established for each graduate, but I am null and void on ideas. Help."

A call-out for ideas on Facebook similarly yielded no advice. Sounds like a lot of you are stumped! So, let Yours Truly offer a great idea from a friend's mom for students who are headed off to college or moving off on their own: Buy oversize bath towels in bulk and have one monogrammed for each grad on your list. It's an affordable, practical and personal option!

This week, we'd like to hear how you'll be keeping your kids busy once school lets out for the summer. Have you signed them up for camp? Planned day trips? Arranged day care? Do you have any off-the-beaten path ideas?
