Meet the Berkley Teachers of the Year

These instructors embody dedication, creativity and compassion for their students.

Three school teachers were recently announced as the Berkley school district's Outstanding Teachers of the Year.

Teresa Ferrara, Stacie Angel and Nicole Farquhar will be honored at Oakland Schools on May 10 with other Oakland County teachers who also earned the annual recognition in their districts.

Following is information about each outstanding educator and why he or she was distinguished. The quotes were chosen from each awardee’s nomination packet.

Nicole Farquhar

"She oversees the three ASD programs at Burton as well as the programs at the Middle and High Schools. Nicole has a gentle but direct way of helping the educational staff to understand the intricacies of autism which in turn helps the children be successful in an educational setting."
