Elementary schools

  • No tank tops for boys or girls.
  • No bare midriffs.
  • Skirts or shorts should be fingertip length with arms at sides.

Middle school

Anderson Middle School Principal Vince Gigliotti said the number one problem is tank tops and too-short shorts and skirts. Although the administration sympathizes with hot weather, the main goal is to create an ideal learning environment with little distractions.

  • No tank tops for boys or girls.
  • No bare midriffs.
  • Skirts or shorts should be fingertip length with arms at sides.
  • No baggy pants or shorts that reveal underwear. Gigliotti commented that students would either be required to tighten their belts or if they do not have a belt, a rope would be given to the student to use as a belt.

High school

“Our main thing is that clothing not be a distraction from learning and that it be appropriate,” Berkley High School principal Randall Gawel said.
