Rep. Sander Levin Kicks Off Student Inaugural Address Competition

Students in Michigan's 9th congressional district, including Berkley and Huntington Woods, can submit a video explaining their vision for the country's future.

United States Rep. Sander Levin kicked off the annual Student Inaugural Address Competition on Wednesday.

During the competition, high school students throughout the 9th congressional district – including Berkley and Huntington Woods – are invited to submit, via video, their own two to three minute inaugural address explaining their vision for the country's future.

The submissions will be judged by a panel of local residents, while the winner will be announced during the week of Jan. 28. President Barack Obama will be officially sworn in for a second term, and give his second inaugural address, on Jan. 21.
