Preview: Huntington Woods City Commission Meeting

Budget items dominate agenda; officials also will discuss city code amendments and other actions Tuesday evening at City Hall.

Budget business will be on the agenda when the Huntington Woods City Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at .

The meeting will kick off with consideration of a resolution urging Gov. Rick Snyder and the Legislature to modify the tax structure of local government.

Commissioners also will consider authorizing the appropriation of fund balance, in accordance with new Governmental Accounting Standards Board provisions, before completion of the 2010-11 city audit, as well as amending  the 2010-11 city budget for year-end adjustments.

The commission will also consider an amendment to the portion of city code covering purchases and procurements that would add a local preference procurement section.

  • Amending a portion of city code that covers elections.
  • Authorizing an agreement with Oakland County for participation in the  Community Development Block Grant program for fiscal years 2012-14.
  • Authorizing an agreement with Michigan Joint Sealing Inc. for 2011 crack sealing that cost $9,570.73.
  • Consideration of the appeal related to City Attorney John Carlson’s partial denial of a Freedom of Information Act request.
