Preview: Fireworks Rules, Vehicle Purchase on City Commission Agenda

The agenda includes the following items:

  • Considering amending the city's fireworks rules in response to that allows the sale of bottle rockets, Roman candles and other flying devices and says municipalities cannot regulate use on federal holidays or the day right before and after. A number of Metro Detroit communities, including Birmingham and have enacted ordinances that would limit fireworks use. In , 64 percent of respondents said personal fireworks use in the neighborhood should not be allowed.
  • Authorizing the replacement of a city passenger vehicle with a 2012 Ford Fusion from Royal Oak Ford for $16,014.00.

The meeting is open to the public, and there will be opportunities for citizen comments.
