Preview: Budget, 'Super Drunk' Law on Huntington Woods City Commission Agenda

A public hearing will be held for residents to voice their thoughts on the city budget.

The Huntington Woods City Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. today in the .

Tonight’s meeting will open with a report from Teen Council members giving an update on the Huntington Woods Teen Council activities and events, though a majority of the meeting will center around the city budget.

A public hearing will be held to receive public input on the proposed budget for 2012-13 and the commission will need to vote to adopt the city budget for the upcoming fiscal year that begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2013.

In addition to budget talk, a few other matters will be addressed during the meeting:

  • Commission will vote to designate National Nurses Week in Huntington Woods May 6-12 and June to be proclaimed Scleroderma Awareness Month.   
  • The collection of the tax administration (in accordance with PA 503 of 1983) must be authorized.
  • An amendment needs to be approved to add the definition of “Super Drunk Driving” to the city code.
