Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama, Romney During Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company AOL, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from Web users across the country.

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

Mr. Romney:
Which of these two statements that you have recently made is the truth? "We are going to cut taxes on everyone across the country by 20 percent, including the top 1 percent. “ – Mitt Romney, Republican politician and presidential candidate “I don’t have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don’t have a tax cut, of the scale you are talking about.” – Mitt Romney, Republican politician and presidential candidate, as you said at the first debate. Which is the LIE, and why did you lie to the American people? Video proof at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJzUQwJFW7k

Mr. Romney:
In your first debate, you claimed that 20 million people could lose their healthcare when Obamacare goes into effect next year. That claim has been proven FALSE, according to Politifact, a non-partisan organization. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/oct/04/mitt-romney/mitt-romney-says-20-million-will-lose-health-insur/ Can you explain why you lied and where you got this false information?

Mr. Romney:
Just as the Obama campaign has said, Mike Huckabee, a FOX News commentator and former Republican Governor of Arkansas, questions your honesty and integrity. Mike Huckabee has said: “He’s (Romney) certainly being dishonest about his own record! When he says that he had the endorsement of the NRA, he did not. When he says he didn’t raise taxes, and in fact, there were $500 million in fees raised during this time. When he talks about my record or John McCain’s. He’s making up stuff, it’s just incredible. In Arkansas, we call it DISHONESTY.” Would you be willing to take a lie-detector test to show whether or not you actually realize you are telling a lot of lies in your campaign? Is it true, what Republicans and Democrats alike say -- that you will say ANYTHING, to win? (Watch Huckabee's video of his comments at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#! )

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is showing us that we have a significantly smaller percentage of the working-age population working today than before the Great Recession, and no sign of improvement. See http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS12300000 -- and to make matters worse, a greater proportion of those who are working are working part time.
So, with a smaller percentage of the population working, and a still smaller percentage working full time, it's no surprise that real household income is down. What do you propose to do about it? (And don't babble about the unemployment rate, because that has nothing to do with my question -- we could have 5% of the population employed and still have a low unemployment rate if few people cared about looking for work.)
