Major Water Main Break Interrupts Service in Berkley

The City of Berkley is experiencing a major water main break on Eaton Street. Water service on Eaton, from Cass to Woodward, will be shut off until repairs are completed.  

Due to the extent of the repairs and weather conditions, it is possible that water service in this area will not be available until this evening.

When the water service is restored,  area residents and businesses may notice the water has a  brown color. If so, let the cold water run in the lowest area of your home or business until it clears. 

If you happen to use any brown water when washing light colored or white clothing,  you will need to wash the items again using a laundry product called  “Iron Out”, which is available at most hardware stores.  Bleach will not remove iron spots.
