Huntington Woods to Raise Pool Rates

The increase of approximately 3 percent is attributed to the rising costs of water and chemicals used to maintain the facility, as well as increased wages for lifeguards.

The Huntington Woods City Commission approved the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's recommended pool rate increases for fiscal year 2011-2012 this week.

Pool patrons will pay approximately 3 percent more than they did in 2010-2011, with the exception of daily entry fees and six-punch pass cards, Recreation Director Nancy Waldmann said Tuesday at .

In a letter to City Manager Alex Allie, Waldmann also noted that residents who live in the Royal Oak portion of the city "will be charged an additional 25% and a $40 annual facility fee."
