Woman's Door Slashed; Neighbors Hear Nothing

The Berkley Public Safety Department supplied the following information.

A resident in the 1180 block of Columbia reported to the Berkley Public Safety Department that someone slashed and scratched her door while she was away from home.

The woman said she left her home at approximately 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5 and returned at approximately 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 to find her side screen door had been slashed and scratches left on the interior door, according to the report. She said nothing appeared to be missing from her home and she was unsure if entry was gained, the responding officer wrote.

The officer, who noted dents on the door frame – however none that would allow prying open of the door or near the lock – wrote that he did not believe entry had been gained to the home.
