Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, Deputy Director Robert North said. employees were called in from home to remove the tree, he said.

Witness Kate Rotan of Huntington Woods, who spoke with the driver on the scene, told Berkley Patch that the woman said she was waiting at a red light when the tree fell on her car.

North said no other trees were reported downed in the city, but many power lines were "arcing and sparking."
