A man Ferndale police said was intent on robbing a doctor’s office pointed a gun at a doctor’s head Monday afternoon, demanded money and, after being told there was no money in the office, grabbed a blank prescription pad and fled the building.
No one was injured and the only item that was taken was the prescription pad, Ferndale Police Det. Lt. William Wilson said in a news release. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect, whose actions were caught on surveillance video.
The robbery occurred at 4:05 p.m. at 808 Livernois.
Police said that moments before the crime, a white male likely involved went inside, asked if the office was closed, and walked out when he was told the office was closed.
Shortly thereafter, the armed gunman approached and entered and pulled a gun from his jacket.
The video shows him pointing a gun at the receptionist’s face and demanding money. When she said she had no money, he went to an examining room, where he held up the doctor at gunpoint.
