Snacks Stolen from Hurley Field Concession Stand

Snacks recently were stolen from the Hurley Field concession stand, according to a Berkley Public Safety Department report.

A resident from the 2260 block of Robina reported at 7:26 a.m. Oct. 12 seeing an unknown person leave suspicious items near the electrical box next to the baseball field and playground outside the Community Center, according to the report.

The responding officer said he discovered chips, candy, muffins and cookies stacked in a pile at the site.

Anderson Middle School soccer coach and Mark Houghton and principal Vince Gigliotti met the officer upon his arrival and confirmed the items were taken from the Hurley Field concession stand, the report said.

The doors were left unlocked and had no signs of forced entry, the officer wrote.

Gigliotti said approximately 20 keys were in the hands of teachers, coaching staff and Berkley High School boosters. The officer advised Gigliotti that the locks should be changed and keys redistributed to the proper people, according to the report.
