Police Blotter: Home Invader Takes Jewelry, Laptop; Tools Stolen From Truck

The following are highlights from reports from the since Aug. 3:

Home invaded; jewelry and laptop reported stolen

A resident in the 3120 block of Tyler reported that between 6:45 p.m. Aug. 2 and 8 a.m. Aug. 3 someone entered her home and took a jewelry box, jewelry and a laptop.

The woman told the reporting officer that a contractor who had been working on her home knew she kept a spare key under a rock near her back door. She told the officer that she advised the contractor she would be out for the night and to keep working. The resident reported that nothing was disturbed when she stopped by the house at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 2.

When the woman returned home at approximately 8 a.m. Aug. 3, her back door was open, the spare key was missing and the jewelry box, jewelry and laptop were missing, she reported.

The case remains under investigation.

Tools reported stolen from truck

A resident reported that tools valued at nearly $2,100 were taken from his truck, which was parked in front of his house in the 3160 block of Thomas, sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 8 a.m. Aug. 6.

There is no suspect in the case, which remains under investigation.
