Investigation of Fatal Crash Continues

Officials from the Berkley Public Safety Department and state police are awaiting lab results.

The investigation into a deadly three-car crash that occurred the night of March 20 continues, officials said this week.

Terrence Dyer, 42, of Detroit was killed in the fiery accident near 12 Mile and Greenfield roads, and two other drivers were hospitalized and later released, Public Safety Director Richard Eshman confirmed Thursday.

The names of the two others involved in the accident are not being released due to the ongoing criminal investigation, Deputy Director Robert North said Wednesday.

"We're waiting on lab results (to come back from the Michigan State Police) to complete our investigation before we take the package to the prosecutor," North said. "They'll determine what charges, if any, will be pursued.

"This is a serious matter, so we have to do it the right way," he said. "You don't rush on these things."
