Huntington Woods Public Safety Deputy Chief Nicholas Armold recently was selected by his classmates at the the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety to receive a prestigious leadership award.
The Franklin M. Kreml Leadership Award was established in 1984 to "recognize and encourage the high ethical and professional values and dedication to public service upon which the Center for Public Safety was founded," according to a Huntington Woods Public Safety press release.
Armold and other students in the 10-week School of Police Staff and Command at the center in Evanston, IL, received training on management and technical subjects beginning Sept. 1.
The Northwestern University Center for Public Safety trains representatives from foreign, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, according to the press release.
