Customized Men's Mountain Bike Taken From Garage on Borgman

The following information was supplied by the Huntington Woods Public Safety Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A resident reported Nov. 5 to the Huntington Woods Public Safety Department that a customized bicycle was taken from his garage on Borgman Avenue.

The man told the responding officer that he had last seen the men's mountain bike approximately a week prior leaning against the back wall of his garage with a women's bicycle in front of it. The women's bike was still there Nov. 5, the officer wrote in his report.

The officer did not observe any damage to the main garage door or the garage entry door and the resident said the detached garage was left open most of the time, according to the report.

The resident, who grew up in England, told the officer the bike was a Specialized brand 26-inch frame on which he had switched the brake levers so the left was on the right and the right on the left, as they would be in his native country. He valued the bicycle at $200 to $300, according to the report.
