Catalytic Converter Taken From Vehicle Parked in Driveway

The following information was supplied by the Berkley Public Safety Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A resident reported to the Berkley Public Safety Department that the catalytic converter was removed from her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway in the 1400 block of West Boulevard the morning of Nov. 23.

The woman reported that she parked her vehicle at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 when she returned from work and when she took the car out at 11 a.m. Nov. 23, her exhaust was very loud. Her husband looked under the vehicle and discovered the converter was missing, according to the report.

There are no suspects in the incident and, as of Nov. 23, no similar incidents had been reported recently, the report said.
