Berkley Public Safety Seeks Bike Accident Witnesses

Investigators need more information about what happened before the Sept. 7 collision between a bicycle and a car that left one man hospitalized, officials say.

The is seeking witnesses to a Sept. 7 collision that left a bicyclist hospitalized.

Investigators need more information about what happened before the accident, in which a Berkley resident in his late 50s was struck at the intersection of Beverly and Coolidge Highway, BPS Director Richard Eshman said Friday.

He said investigators already have spoken with witnesses to the impact and its aftermath.

"If anybody saw the bicyclist before the collision, that would be helpful," BPS Sgt. Pete Kelly said. "If you are a witness who hasn't already spoken to police, we'd like to hear from you."

Kelly said the investigation will continue while the department awaits the results of toxicology tests from the Michigan State Police and gathers more witness accounts.

The bicyclist remains hospitalized, Eshman said.
