Berkley Public Safety Department Invites Elementary Students to Enter Posters in Open House Contest

The winner and a friend will be picked up by a BPS fire truck and driven to lunch; the first-place design also will be used to promote the Sept. 29 event.

The invites Berkley elementary school students to enter their designs in its open house poster contest.

The theme for this year's free open house, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Berkley Public Safety building, is "Always have two ways out of a room." The event will include a chili cook-off, fire safety tips, a live burn, an extrication and more.

Posters should be created on an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of paper and will be judged on their message and originality. All entries must be submitted by Sept. 24; designs can be dropped off at school offices or at the Berkley Public Safety building. Entrants should include their name, grade, school, phone number and address on the back of their poster.
