Most of the so called "crimes" that they tend to report are minor in nature. Yes, none of are immune from crime and I would be silly for us to think so. Obviously, if their were a major crime that was committed in the community that would be something we would all want to know and hear about. But to keep reporting on previously reported crime related events again and again is ridiculous. Just today Patch reported the week in review. Not anything regarding good news stories but their crime related stories yet once again. Are they that desperate to fill the pages that they have to keep reporting the same old news over and over again? Why can't they get a little more creative? I'm sure there is plenty to report about between the two communities covered here by Patch. Why does their "week in review" rehash the old crime related reports from the previous week? High school kids could do a better job of reporting.....

I appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns. However, we have a duty to report on both the good and bad in the community. We will try to do more to shine the light on all of these stories.

Thanks for posting all that you do Nate. Being informed is powerful. It seems that some people would bury their head in the sand and act like crimes are not commited in our city. By you reporting these issues, the community can become more vigilant and help the TPD!

I won't pick on Ron because I also prefer to see more of the good than bad. However, someone did make the suggestion that if you don't want to read about the crimes then skip to something else. No one forces you to look at it. I feel pretty darn safe in Trenton (despite recent issues trying to get new home and car insurance within Wayne county). Anyway, Ron hang in there. I know pretty much all news seems negative these days but as Nate showed, there are plenty of positives that maybe you somehow missed. I would like to see more community involvement projects and things we can do to bring the city closer together. I was hoping to get some people together to clean up the parks this spring. So many people were complaining about it but they need to step up and take action.
