Ms. Berkley Days Pageant Canceled; Volunteer Awards, Softball Coming Up

After 34th annual run on Saturday, more activities are in store for the community through Sunday.

The two people "whose volunteer spirit contributes to the betterment of our community" will be recognizing as Berkley's Citizen of the Year and the Humanitarian of the Year tonight as Berkley Days kicks into second gear.

Berkley Days began with the 34th annual race at Hurley Field on Saturday, witha 1 mile run/walk as well as a 5K and a 10K race. Proceeds from the race benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Saturday's runs kicked off a week of favorite activities and new ones to run through Sunday.

Tonight's Ms. Berkley Days Pageant has been canceled, according the Berkley Days website. Ms. Berkley Days, however, will be throwing out the first pitch at Wednesday's softball game between and the Berkley Dad's Club. 

Also on tap: The recognition of Citizen of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year.
