JARC hosted its 15th Annual Spring Elation fundraiser May 22 at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak. Nearly 2,000 people, including residents from Berkley and Huntington Woods, attended and more than $250,000 was raised for the organization.

SpringElation is the major source of private funding for JARC’s services for children and their families. All proceeds raised at this family community event benefit children with disabilities receiving services through the organization’s Merle and Shirley Harris Children and Family Division.

Guests enjoyed a private and all-inclusive evening at the Detroit Zoo including a picnic dinner, free parking and access to many of the zoo's popular exhibits and attractions, including rides on the carousel and Tauber Family Railroad, and arts and crafts activities for kids. Live entertainment and dancing was provided by StarTrax.
