Operation Homeward Bound

These dogs would have zero chance of survival if we left them here.

""Greetings from Afghanistan!

Operation Homeward Bound is building momentum but we still need help! So far we’ve raised just over $3,000. This article is on the cover of our newspaper in Milford published today so I guess I’m somewhat famous:

These dogs would have zero chance of survival if we left them here, the Mother (Alice) helped protect our remote outpost (she barks at anyone not wearing our uniform) and we are grateful to her. We are on the tail of end our deployment here which is a blessing but also TIME IS NOW VERY SHORT.

If you could possibly make a donation of $10-20 and forward this email to your friends, I would be grateful. We must raise another $9,000 in the next two weeks, a huge task that can't be accomplished without your help.  I know it’s a lot but offering these dogs a better life is very important to my Soldiers and I and we need all the help we can get.  Leaving these three special friends behind to an unspeakable fate is not an option. As I mentioned previously, we have partnered with a couple non-profits that specialize in rescuing dogs from Afghanistan (very difficult but they can do it with funding) and they are working with us to make this happen. While it’s very expensive and I/we hate to beg, this is just the right thing to do to save these wonderful dogs.  Again, if you forward this, here’s the link to help Alice, Medusa, and Samantha get "Homeward Bound" to Michigan by making a donation to American Dog Rescue:

Without your help we will have to leave them behind and that's an unacceptable outcome to my Soldiers and I. Please feel free to forward this to your friends and family who might be open to our plea and help.

Thanks again for your donation and best to you in 2013!

With appreciation from Afghanistan,

Scott""
