Berkley Holiday Lights Parade Committee Seeks Volunteers

A meeting will be held Oct. 8 at the Berkley Public Safety Department building.

The Berkley Holiday Lights Parade Committee has scheduled a meeting for Oct. 8, to be held at 7 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Berkley Public Safety building.

The Committee is responsible for putting on the Holiday Lights Parade on the first Saturday in December (Dec. 7). We have been organizing and fundraising for the annual parade for nine years. The Committee is in need of volunteers – for the committee, and for the evening of the parade.

There are numerous ways to help – from carrying banners in the parade itself to helping decorate Santa's sleigh, or being a street captain the night of the event. We would really like to get the word out for new members.  It's hard work each year, but watching the parade all lit up and marching down 12 Mile makes it worth it every time. Interested individuals are invited to attend the next meeting.

Also, there is no charge to put a float or a vehicle in the parade. We only ask that it be lit up and holiday-themed. A registration form can be received by contacting marshalswayze@gmail.com or calling Paul Swayze at 248-435-5071.
