Recovery From Food Addiction (RFA)

A group of men and women who support each other in Food Addiction Recovery.  The group members use the food plan designed by Kay Sheppard, LMH, CEDS.  Food addiction is characterized by obsession with food, obsession with weight and loss of control over the amount of food eaten.  It involves the compulsive pursuit of mood change by engaging repeatedly in episodes of binge eating despite adverse consequences.  The group members work each day on abstinence.  Abstinence is achieved by the elimination of compulsive eating, volume eating, under eating, addictive eating and all of the substances that will trigger an addictive response.  These include sugar, flour, wheat, highly refined carbohydrates foods, high fat foods and personal trigger foods.
