CMSD Caps 70th Anniversary Season with Zukerman ChamberPlayers

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will conclude the historic 70th season with a performance by the Zukerman ChamberPlayers featuring the renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman. 

A prodigious talent recognized worldwide for his artistry, Pinchas Zukerman has been an inspiration to young musicians throughout his adult life. In a continuing effort to motivate future generations of musicians, Zukerman teamed up with several proteges to form the Zukerman ChamberPlayers. The ensemble has amassed an impressive international touring schedule. Recent appearances include the Ravinia, Aspen and Tanglewood Festivals in the U.S. as well as worldwide engagements at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, London's BBC Proms as well as in Vienna, Paris, Milan and Budapest. Zukerman ChamberPlayers has recorded four discs on the CBC, Altara and Sony labels, including Schubert's "Trout" Quintet and Mozart's Piano Quintet in E-flat Major with Yefim Bronfman.

Piano Quintet C minor, Op. 60, "Werther"

The concert takes place Saturday, May 17th, 2014, 8:00 PM at the Seligman Performing Arts Center, 22305 West 13 Mile Road (corner of Lahser Road) on the campus of Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills. Single tickets priced at $30 - $60, and student tickets at $15 - $24, are available online at http://www.chambermusicdetroit.org/  and by phone at 248-855-6070. Student rush tickets priced at $10 are also available at the box office beginning at 6 PM on concert night.
