Winding Down From Easter: How to Use Up Your Ham, Candy, Easter Decor

Helpful hints on how to use leftover ham, fun facts on that Easter candy you're devouring and springtime tabletop ideas for a great dining table all season long.

After the rush of the holiday, you might be left with gobs of Easter basket candy around the house, even more leftover ham in the fridge and a dining room table that needs a little oomph since Easter decor has to go.

Well, thankfully we have wonderful ideas to put all of those things to great use and to have some fun while doing it:

  • Of course you're going to eat the candy from the Easter basket, but do you ever wonder why it's tradition to eat chocolate eggs each Easter or how many Peeps it takes to keep up with the Easter demand? Check out these fun facts to share with the family for a twist on enjoying Easter candy.
  • If you've got some leftover ham waiting to be put to use, look no farther: Hope Comerford has shared her recipe for Bean & Ham Soup in the slow cooker. It's a relaxing way to wind down from Easter without sacrificing a great meal. You can use leftover ham pieces, ham hocks or a ham bone.
  • It would be a shame to pack up all the beautiful vases, fine crystal and springtime decor just because the holiday is over. This article on spring entertaining can help you keep – or even renew – your perfect tabletop ambiance for the rest of the season. There are decoration ideas and nearby places to check out for inspiration and a few new pieces.

Don't forget to from this weekend. Whether it was an adorable Easter bonnet, cute snapshots from an Easter egg hunt, a grandiose Easter basket or a glimpse of your homemade holiday meal, we want to see it.
