Weekend Planner: It's Party Time!

Check out an anniversary party at 24 Seconds Bar & Grill, party down at O'Mara's Restaurant or The Berkley Front, or enjoy story time with Santa at the Berkley Public Library or a Hanukkah carnival at Aish in the Woods.

Hey, it's the holidays! So take the kids to see Santa, check out a Hanukkah carnival or get ready to boogie down – there are plenty of ways to celebrate.

Here's the lineup:


  • Where:
  • When: 4:30 p.m. Friday
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: Santa will leave the North Pole for a brief time to have a special visit with the children of Berkley. He will read a story and sing songs with the kids. Santa will then be available for pictures.
  • What else: Sign up in person or by calling 248-658-3440. Children younger than 5 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or caregiver. This program is available to Berkley residents only.


  • Where:
  • When: 9 p.m. Friday
  • Cost: No cover
  • Why go: Even Exchange will add the sounds of Motown, '70s funk and rock music to holiday cheer. The trio includes Michael Brown (lead vocals and drums), Charlie Hawkins (guitar and vocals) and Lenny Lucas (bass and vocals).

  • Where:
  • When: 10 p.m. Friday
  • Cost: No cover
  • Why go: Join the festivities as the Front hosts its monthly dance party. British pop, dream pop, post-punk and more. DJs Mike Trombley, Slofu and Undenjoe will be on hand.  

  • Where:
  • When: 7 p.m. Saturday
  • Cost: No cover
  • Why go: As a special thanks to its customers and to celebrate six years in the community, 24 Seconds is offering gifts, as well as drink and food specials all night!  


  • Where:
  • When: 11 a.m. Sunday
  • Cost: $18 per family. Food tickets $1 each.
  • Why go: Celebrate Chanukah by braiding challah and building a menorah, plus door prizes, crafts, bingo and more.
