Berkley High School Homecoming Game

When: Parade at 6:40 p.m., game at 7 p.m. Friday

Why go? to enjoy during a pregame parade of fall sports teams around the track. The Bears then will take on Lahser in the annual Homecoming matchup. The marching band has a special surprise in store for spectators.

Berkley Bears Pancake Breakfast

When: 8-11 a.m. Saturday

Why go? Gobble down pancakes as you mingle with friends and neighbors during Homecoming weekend. The event is a fundraiser for the Berkley Bears Athletic Boosters and the teams the group supports.

Cost: $7 adults; $5 children 12 and younger; $20 a family

Day of Deals at Yellow Door Art Market

When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday

Why go? Twelve of the market's artists will fill six tents with discounted jewelry, artwork and more. Artists will include Alice Ham, Marsha Filipiak, Patty Fleischman, Julie Langensiepen, Sooney Kadouh, Martha Sintz, Janne Bisset, Susan Kozlowski, Lisa Siebert, Sandy O'Brien, Rebecca Maillette and Holly Laginess.

Mom to Mom Sale

When: 9 a.m.-noon Saturday

Why go: Shop among approximately 70 tables for deeply discounted clothing, baby items, books and toys.

Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

Where: , 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd., Royal Oak

Why go: Add a furry friend to your family during this 19th annual event, which will feature hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Meet Your Best Friend is put on by the Detroit Zoo, the Michigan Humane Society and several local animal welfare organizations.
