Slippery Morning Commute Forecast

Snow, sleet and rain overnight could make Tuesday's drive a challenge, National Weather Service says.

Updated: Sprinkle some salt on your sidewalk and set back your alarm, Tuesday morning is expected to be an icy one.

Snow, freezing rain and sleet are forecast overnight, producing a slick coating of ice on Metro Detroit roadways for the morning rush hour, according to the National Weather Service. The forecasting agency has issued a winter weather advisory for Oakland County from 4 a.m. until noon Tuesday.

"Roads are expected to become icy for the morning commute due to light snow, sleet and freezing rain," the advisory said. "Although temperatures look to climb above freezing tomorrow morning, untreated or less-traveled roads will likely remain slippery."
