UPDATED: Berkley, Huntington Woods Dodge Big Snow

Southeast Michigan expected to get more snow Saturday and rain in coming days, the National Weather Service says.

A storm that blew into southeast Michigan in the wee hours Friday morning produced less snow than the National Weather Service anticipated – the original forecast was for up to 6 inches – but more white stuff is expected Saturday.

Berkley and Huntington Woods residents awoke to a couple inches of snow on the ground and flurries drifting down, but that was expected to be the worst of the storm Friday and the forecasting agency canceled a winter weather advisory for the area.

The agency predicts southeast Michigan could see one inch of snow Saturday, with a high around 30 degrees. The temperature is expected to warm to a high of 39 degrees Sunday, according to the NWS.
